Guarantees and Warranties

At Total Landscaping and Groundworks, our reputation is built on the quality of our work and the trust of our clients. This page details our formal guarantees and warranties, demonstrating our confidence in our craftsmanship and our commitment to standing by every project we undertake.

1. Workmanship Warranty

We take immense pride in the skill of our team and the precision of our work.

  • We provide a 24-month (2-year) warranty on all workmanship from the date of practical completion.

  • This warranty covers any defects in the installation, construction, or execution of the works that arise due to faulty craftsmanship.

  • Upon notification, we will rectify the defect at no cost for parts or labour, subject to the terms below.

Scope & Exclusions: This workmanship warranty does not cover:

  • Damage resulting from improper use, abuse, neglect, or lack of reasonable maintenance by the client.

  • Defects in materials supplied by others (see Materials Guarantee below).

  • Issues arising from factors beyond our control, including but not limited to:

    • Subsidence, ground heave, or other ground movement.

    • Extreme weather events (storms, flooding, exceptional frost).

    • Damage caused by third parties or accidental impact.

2. Materials Guarantee

We source high-quality materials from reputable, certified suppliers.

  • All materials used in your project are covered by the manufacturer's original warranty.

  • We will provide you with relevant manufacturer documentation (e.g., for paving, timber treatments, drainage systems) upon request.

  • In the event of a material defect, we will act as your liaison with the supplier or manufacturer to facilitate a claim, replacement, or repair in accordance with their terms. Labour for the replacement of warranted materials within the workmanship warranty period will be covered by us.

3. Accuracy of Technical Data & Testing

Our groundworks and drainage solutions are engineered with precision. We utilise industry-standard testing methods to inform our designs.

  • BRE365 Percolation Tests & Trial Pit Investigations: Tests are conducted in strict accordance with the methodologies outlined in BRE Digest 365 and building regulations. We warrant that the data we provide in our reports is an accurate record of the tests carried out on the date of testing, under the prevailing site conditions.

  • Surface Water Run-Off Calculations & Drainage Design: Calculations are performed using approved methodologies (e.g., IH124, FR/RFA) based on the site information and test data available.

  • Important Note: While we ensure our testing is accurate and our designs are compliant, the performance of any drainage or groundworks system can be affected by future changes to the site (e.g., additional impermeable surfaces, changes in groundwater levels) or extreme weather events exceeding the design criteria. Our liability is for the correct installation of a system designed to the best available data at the time of construction.

4. Our Client Commitment

Beyond formal warranties, our commitment to you is foundational:

  • Clarity & Communication: You will receive clear quotes, regular project updates, and straightforward answers to your questions.

  • Professional Standards: Our team will arrive on time, work tidily, respect your property, and maintain a safe site. We are fully insured (Public & Employers' Liability) and all machinery is certified and compliant.

  • Clean & Tidy Finish: We believe a job is only complete when the site is left clean, tidy, and ready for you to enjoy.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

Should an issue arise that you believe is covered by our warranties, please contact us promptly:

  • Notify Us in Writing: Email asa@totallandg.co.uk with the subject "Warranty Claim."

  • Provide Details: Include your name, project address, original contract/quote reference, a clear description of the issue, and supporting photographs.

  • Assessment: We will acknowledge your claim within 3 working days and arrange a site visit to assess the issue.

  • Resolution: If the issue falls under our warranty, we will provide a written plan and timeline for its rectification.

Our goal is not just to meet expectations, but to exceed them, creating outdoor spaces that are built to last and backed by our promise.
